To Err is INHUMAN
The plates of the earth are forever shifting, at times causing
the planet to shiver in shocks of fever, causing waves of destruction, manifesting
as tsunamis, quakes, landslides and so many other unforeseen catastrophes that
threaten to shake the very foundation of life and intelligence on the planet.
Being a resistant strain of life, determined to survive the vagaries of this
planet, humans were astute enough to install, on and around the planet,
state-of-the-art infrastructure to ensure that they be signaled in advance with signs
and warnings that would enable them to gear up in resistance to such impending natural
dangers.
The plates of human existence are also in motion now,
causing the entire humanity to shiver in shocks of indignation and outrage. The
atrocities that now mar the human race are beyond any rationale. No machine has
been designed to gauge the vagaries of the human mindscape; no state-of-the-art
infrastructure exists to signal in advance with signs and warnings of man-borne
crimes that are committed round the clock, infesting all the corners of our
planet today.
Man has created history. We have outdone and out-marveled our own historical and technological records. Our reach and vision now extends to
the cold dark depths of the craters on Mars. We marvel at our own intelligence
and are beyond excited even as we fearfully calculate the minutes and hours
that humanity is left with before the world is hurled outright into the artificially
intelligent clutches of a Technological Singularity. Such advancement!
But does not that sound like a far off era for humanity, for us to slowly earn and attain that ripe old age of having conquered the
pinnacle of evolution? Will man ever get there? Aren't we all, as a whole, in all probability more
likely to explode into a deep filth filled pit overflowing with dead and
decaying bodies very soon; the very possible and imminent outcome of the
unbridled Criminal Multiplicity that we indulge in today?
Who is safe? The boy child? The girl child? The man? The woman? The transgender? The unborn? The new born? The senile? The fully clad? The ill clad? The cross-dressed? The erudite? The illiterate? The armed? The unarmed? What good is artificial intelligence if we are still incapable of putting the inherent intelligence that we have to its minimum possible use?
Times are dismal, because of us. The future is bleak, because of us. There are no excuses to err anymore. Let’s make fewer mistakes, for a beginning. And let’s not forgive irrational mistakes that destroy innocent lives so easily. These are harsh times that question even the freedom of existence. It is a pitiless world. And here, to err is INHUMAN and forgiveness, no less than blasphemy.
